Aurangabad Ellora Ajanta Caves
The city is enriching with historical and cultural heritage, as well as it is beautifully surrounded by hills. The area covers about 10100 km ² and a population of about 2,897,013. It was ruled by Mughal Empire during the reign of Aurangzeb a long time ago and consequently it depicts little Mughal art and architecture. The city has many tourist attractions.
According to some historians, the modern city of Aurangabad was originated by Malik Ambar; the city has the former Prime Minister named Murtaza Nizam Shah II and Nizam Ahmednagara. Originally the town was named as Fatehpur. The modern name Aurangabad was probably during the reign of Aurangzeb between 1681 AD and 1707 AD.
